We made it! Well, almost. This week schools are breaking up. Those of us who are lucky enough to get paid time off over the holidays are winding up. And if you’re celebrating Christmas, you’re probably going to start making your way to see family (or they’re on their way to see you) in the next couple of days.

The holidays can be a mixed bag. Great to see people, but peopling can be a lot. Especially if said people have vocal opinions on things like seed oils, ultra processed food or monitoring their blood sugar. Or maybe they want to tell you about a new diet or weight-loss drug they’ve been using and not-so-subtly recommend you should try too. Comments on your body, your kids’ body, what you’re eating or not eating, being ‘good’, being ‘naughty’, pressuring kids to eat, grandmas shaming kids for eating nothing but the chocolate in their selection boxes that they hyped to the high heavens.
